EMS Memorial

They are like you and me. If you’re lucky, you may know one.

They come in different colors and gender, yet stand taller than most by putting it all on the line when the alarm calls.

They are at once the most fortunate and least fortunate of all people. They savor life because they’ve seen much death. They, like us, have experienced sadness, happiness, and unfilled dreams.

They’re gentle people who have seen too much of the power of violent forces out of hand. They appreciate the simple pleasures of life.

They are caring and loving. They’re strong and brave, forever in training for the life that may be saved.

They are the strains of the National Anthem and they shall never be forgotten.

The South Dakota Emergency Medical Technicians’ Association is committed to honoring emergency medical services personnel who have lost their life in the line of duty.

The honorable recognition will be in the form of a memorial placed next to the memorials of Fire and Law Enforcement near the South Dakota State Capitol Building located on the Capitol Lake in Pierre, South Dakota.

A memorial honoring emergency medical services persons will complete the memorials to emergency services of South Dakota. Your generous donation to this recognition will provide an invaluable and appreciated in providing an everlasting honor remembering those who have fallen in the line of duty.

Like the National Anthem, they shall never be forgotten. That’s why your donation is so very important to the completion of this memorial. Your financial gift will assist us in providing a monument of honor that will stand proud now and in the future.
